The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has officially released the updated MPSC Syllabus 2025 for both Prelims and Mains. Previously known as the MPSC State Service Exam (till 2022), this exam is now conducted under the name of MPSC Civil Services Exam.

🆕 What’s New in MPSC Exam 2025?
Starting from the MPSC 2025 cycle, a major change has been made in the main exam format:
- ✅ The MPSC Mains Exam 2025 will now be descriptive, replacing the earlier Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) pattern.
- ✅ The MPSC Prelims Exam 2025 will remain multiple choice question-based and will have two papers:
- Paper 1 – General Studies
- Paper 2 – CSAT (Aptitude-nature)

📄 Important Instructions for Mains 2025
- Candidates can write papers 3 to 7 in Marathi or English.
- For optional subjects, the language medium should be selected based on the options given:
- Topics marked as “Marathi and English” can be answered in any language.
- Answers to subjects marked as “English only” must be given in English.
- The medium of answering must be chosen while submitting the online application.
- Answer sheets written in an unauthorized medium will not be evaluated.
- The question papers will be available in both Marathi and English, except for language or literature-based subjects.
